AUTONOMY
Theivanai Ammal college for became an autonomous college in
2009 & Extension of Autonomy in 2015 by the University Grants commission (UGC).
It continues to be an affiliated college of the Annamalai University and is
autonomous in the sense that it is free to frame its own courses of studies and
to adopt innovative methods of teaching and evaluation. As a mandate for
autonomy, the college has a Governing Council, Academic Council, Board of
Studies and other effectively functioning systems. The College adopts Choice
Based Credit System with a focus on academic excellence, vocational skill
development, value orientation, and sensitization for community development.
ExpertÂ’s opinion is also considered for evolving new curriculum relevant t
regional, national & global needs. Transparent evaluation system,
supplementary examinations and special supplementary exams are conducted for
the benefit of the students. The college has the distinction of excelling in
academics and extracurricular activities. It always stood ahead in promoting
the job-oriented quality education to the women in tune with the changing
scenario to compete with their counterparts in all sphere. The university
confers the degrees to the students after passing the examinations held by the
college and the name of the college will be indicated in the degree certificate
issued by the Annamalai University, Chidambaram. Research programme
as per the stipulation of Parent University
