The
Department of Chemistry is established in 1992 at under graduate level and was
promoted to Post graduate level in 2012-2013. Later it grew into
research department by introducing M.Phil and Ph.D in 2020. It produced
8 university rank holders. The department has two
laboratories possessing necessary chemicals, reagents, glassware, lab wares and
basic instruments for performing experiments in physical, inorganic, organic
and analytical chemistry, in general and synthesis, analysis (qualitative and
quantitative) and characterization of different inorganic and organic compounds
in more particulars. The department has a state-of-art instrumentation
facility and laboratory infrastructure for conducting quality research. The
department has smart classrooms and procured high-end instruments for research
with the support of the DST-FIST program. The
Department has received TNSCST Project fund in the every academic last five
years. The department of chemistry organized invited lecture,
Innovative hub activity, and international conferences on thrust areas of
chemical sciences.
