Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was established in 1989 as an ancillary Department. The Department is currently offering B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. Programme. The Department offers an appropriate blend of pure, applied and skill oriented Mathematical courses such as Analysis, Operations Research, Latex and MAT lab and so on. The Department gives keen importance in motivating the students for higher education and make them understand its importance in the current competitive world. The students of the department have been participating regularly in seminars and conferences conducted by other colleges.

National Mathematics Day

National Mathematics Day marks the birthday of Srinivasa Ramanujan, a legendary Indian mathematician. The day is observed in remembrance and honour of the ‘man who knew infinity’. His contributions to number theory, infinite series, mathematical analysis, etc., are considered instrumental. The day is also celebrated to make people aware of the development of mathematics and its importance in the growth of humanity.
