About Computer Science Department

Establishment of the Department :

The department was started in the year 1989. The Postgraduate programme was introduced in 2003, and grown into a research department in 2008. The department continues to produce 100 % result in PG and M.Phil till the current year. National/State Level seminars are conducted by eminent personalities in current trends in IT. Industrial visits are the regular features of the department and students are acquiring knowledge from industries like Maples ESM Technologies, Pentasoft Technologies. The department has well-equipped Computer Laboratories. It also offers an atmosphere conducive for research scholars for pursuing research in various advanced areas of Computer Science.

  • 2003-M.SC Computer Science
  • 2008- M.Phil Computer Science

  • Be able to apply computer science principles to real-world problems.

  • Understand ethical, professional and social issues related to the practice of their profession.

Significant Achievements of the Department

  • Upgradation as Research department in 2008with 6 approved M.Phil Research guides.
  • We have produced 24 M.Phil. research scholars, so far.
  • Maintaining 100% results in PG and M.Phil.
  • The department has a success rate of atleast 90% every academic year.
  • We produced 2 UG Rank Holders and 12 PG Rank Holders (university 1st rank PG 2007) (2006)
  • Computer Literacy course for District Judges was conducted in 2005.
  • Conducted 1national level and 5 state level seminars.
  • Extension of new lab to meet the requirement of the students
